We are absolutely delighted to welcome Briege Murphy back from Armagh after her fantastic visit in 2018. Steeped in Irish musical traditions since she was a girl, she joined Comhaltas when she was a teenager. Her albums combine her love of Irish traditional and American folk songs, and she is a gifted entertainer. Briege has performed at international music festivals and her songs have been recorded by artists like Niamh Parsons and Frances Black amongst others. Many have likened Briege to the storytellers of old who brought to life situations common to peoples' own experiences through their songs and poignant lyrics.
Briege Murphy is a singer/songwriter from Forkhill, Co. Armagh in Northern Ireland.
Her first album "The Longest Road" was released in 1995 and since then she has become renowned both as a live artist and as a songwriter. In November 2003 Briege represented Ireland in an International song contest in Holland, singing one of her own compositions in Gaelic, coming 5th out of 70 bands across Europe.
