Fear of Heights: A Very Funny Phobia examines the American experience through the lens of Kevin Flynn's Irish immigrant family. Flynn's father and grandfather were both steelworkers and inspired the title of this work. His grandfather is the man sitting on the far right of a group of steelworkers, high above the Manhattan skyline in the iconic black and white image ‘Lunch Atop a Skyscraper’. Destined to be a third-generation ironworker, the young Kevin dreamed of the bright lights of Hollywood instead. Fear of Heights is a heart-warming and hilarious biographical tale about life, love, trying to make your way in the world, and how one generation measures success relative to their forebears'. He recently performed this one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in August to much praise and rave reviews.
