Gourley, Feddersen and Murray have thrilled Irish folk and traditional music fans across New York, the United States and the world with their live performances. Come and witness this brilliant trio weave through their music and story a majestic, generational tapestry of Celtic arts, history and heritage.
Nathan Gourley and Laura Feddersen are an Irish fiddle duo hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. Their playing is steeped in lifelong study of the Irish musical tradition, and is at the same time colored by their American roots. Through years of playing and arranging music, Nathan and Laura have developed a unique style of twin fiddling, sometimes playing in taut unison; sometimes exploring chordal harmonies and rhythmic and melodic variations. Nathan and Laura have produced a number of recording projects together, including Life Is All Checkered; Ship in the Clouds; and, most recently Brightly or Darkly. IAHM asks that you please consider purchasing these albums through "bandcamp." Significant proceeds from purchases made through "bandcamp" - as opposed to streaming services you may use - actually make their way to our musicians friends.
Guitarist, bouzouki player and singer Alan Murray hails from Glasgow, Scotland. Since moving to the United States, Alan has established himself as an in-demand performer and teacher on the traditional music scene. Alan has recorded and performed around the world with many of the finest traditional musicians and acts today, including Solas, Lunasa, Eileen Ivers, Battlefield Band, We Banjo 3, FourWinds, and many more.
Nathan, Laura, and Alan each perform and teach regularly both at home and at festivals throughout the US and Ireland.
IAHM's Executive Director would testify both under oath and from experience that Alan has the patience of a canonized saint as a teacher of Irish bouzouki students.
