The Irish American Heritage Museum is thrilled to have the legendary ANDY IRVINE perform on September 30, 2025.
Andy is recognized across the world as one of the great Irish singers. Andy is recognized one of a handful of true performing giants that both inspires all and conveys to his listeners so beautifully the very soul of Ireland. Indeed, Andy has been hailed as "a tradition in himself."
Andy has been at the helm of legendary bands like Sweeney’s Men in the mid 1960s; Planxty (with Christy Moore, Dónal Lunny and Liam O'Flynn) in the 1970s; in late 1975 Andy performed and recorded with Paul Brady, making the classic album "Andy Irvine & Paul Brady" in 1976; and other super-groups, including Patrick Street, Mozaik, LAPD and more recently Usher’s Island. Andy has been a world music pioneer, and is a true icon for traditional music and musicians.
As a musician, singer, and songwriter, Andy has maintained his highly individual performing skills throughout his over 60-year career. Andy continues to fan the flames of Irish traditional music, ushering the genre well into the next and future generations.
The Irish American Heritage Museum is truly honored to host this remarkable performer and ambassador for Irish culture and heritage, and to welcome Andy Irvine to Albany.
