On February 1, 2025 Ellie O’Byrne and Mark Graham set off from the south coast of Ireland in an attempt to circumnavigate the globe on their bicycles. After 17,000 miles and 16 months in the saddle they have reached Albany NY as they make their way back to Ireland.
They have run from bears in the Carpathian Mountains, carted their winter kit across the scorching deserts of Central Asia, Ill-advisedly raced typhoons in Vietnam, and spent a night in jail in Montana.
Their inspirational story highlights the indomitable human spirit, the ever-present kindness of strangers, the value of seizing the day, and the wisdom of always carrying a spare roll of toilet paper.
On Monday June 22nd at 7PM Mark & Ellie will share some tales from the road in The Irish American Heritage Museum at 21 Quackenbush Sqaure Albany. We are delighted they reached out to IAHM yesterday as they will pass through Albany, to offer this informal gathering to discuss their journey
Admission is free; all are welcome. This is a laid-back chance to connect, ask questions, and get inspired. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to meet these passionate riders and hear firsthand about their adventures on two wheels!
