February is the feast-month of St. Brigid of Ireland. Across the globe, the faithful pray to St. Brigid who was known for her charitable nature and for being unable to keep from feeding the poor and healing the needy. Storyteller, historian, writer, actor and historical re-enactor Claire Nolan brings her brilliantly written and performed one-woman show on St. Brigid to honor Ireland's venerable saint on her feast-month.
Claire Nolan has written and performed several plays about women. The St. Brigid story is Claire's most recent in a series of “packed house” performances at the Irish American Heritage Museum's Flanagan Theater. Claire's past performances at the intimate, 60-seat Theater include shows on Georgia O'Keefe and Rachel Carson. Claire kindly commissioned herself to write and perform this tribute to St. Brigid as a result of her love for the mission of the Irish American Heritage Museum.
IAHM acknowledges with gratitude its sponsors the Flanagan family and The Parking Authority of Albany.
