STORIES FOR THE SEASON: “The Thinning of the Veil” Samhain Celebration

RSVP here!

Samhain is the Celtic festival that celebrates the end of harvest and the start of winter. The time is also known as "the thinning of the veil." The Celts believed the barrier between the world of the living and the world of the dead was at its thinnest during this time, and that the transparency allowed spirits and ancestors to more easily pass between realms. This "veil thin'd" time was considered a period of both reflection and where those who have passed on were honored. Samhain was often marked by rituals, storytelling and increased intuitive experiences.

IAHM welcomes five storytellers, Fran Berger, Eileen Egan Mack, Mary Murphy, Claire Nolan, and Nancy Marie Payne who will share spooky stories for the Samhain season. There will also be kid friendly activities.

Suitable for adults and families with school aged children.

The Irish American Heritage Museum is grateful for the opportunity to co-sponsor this event with the Story Circle at Proctors Theater. IAHM also thanks it sponsors: Metroland Now, Common Roots Brewing Company, ParkAlbany, and the Flanagan Family.

ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW PRESENT YOUR TICKET AT COMMON ROOTS BREWING COMPANY AND RECEIVE A SPECIAL IAHM EVENT OFFER - "BUY ONE/GET ONE" BEVERAGE.
